Queen, a British rock
band formed in 1967 with his first name Smile that with the input and output
members of this band then signed with Mercury Records in 1969, in 1970 the band
members decided to change the name to Queen. In 1971 Freddie Mercury (band
member) design the famous logo of Queen called Queen crest, shortly before the
release of the first album of the band. The logo combines the zodiac signs of
the four components of the set: two lions for Leo (Deacon and Taylor
representing), a crab for Cancer (representing May), and two fairies for Virgo
(representing Mercury). The lions are embracing a letter Q, the crab rests on
the letter, he raised some flares, and two fairies under each lion. Inside the
Q is a crown, the logo is overshadowed by an enormous phoenix.
In 1972 Queen
was the only group that had not signed a record label, then after refusing to
Chrysalis Records in late 1972 and Queen I sign with Trident, after signing
with Trident, the Queen offers a new recording and new instruments to record
their first album, after recording the album Trident located in EMI album,
which he edited and published until the July 13, 1973, that album was called
Queen and was heavily influenced by heavy metal and progressive rock of the
time.
In 1974 the group toured
Australia in that year formed the Queen fan club, which the Guinness Book of
Records was one of the centers associated with more fans in the world, this
year was promoted idea of another album, this was done despite delays by a
typo on the cover and also the United Kingdom had been the victim of the oil
crisis, which meant that there was a three-day working week, finally the March
8 of 1974 is released the album Queen II, with this success with it for the
first time a tour of the UK. In 1975 there was a rift between Queen and
Trident, which caused the cancellation of the U.S. tour, Queen signed a
separate agreement with EMI and Elektra, but Queen did not have a manager and
they decided to hire John Reid, this put one hundred thousand pounds to terminate
the agreement, in addition to hiring Peter Beach as a lawyer to negotiate the
existing contract with Trident. On November 21, 1974 was published the album A
Night at the opera, being the most expensive album ever produced.
In early 1986 Queen they
release the album A Kind of Magic, which was No.1 for 63 weeks, and many of his
songs were used in movies, making it a commercial success. On November 25, 1991
the star dies vocalist Freddie Mercury Queen, for the disease AIDS, in 2002
Queen had a place in the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, in late 2004 May and Taylor
announced that the two would meet and touring again in 2005 with Paul Rodgers
all with the name of Queen + Paul Rodgers, the group which was separated
amicably official May 12, 2009.
